Okay. This Saturday I'm going to enroll in the Illustration & Comics class of my local art academy. The idea is to become more professional and to make you something better than I am currently capable of producing. The question is, however, what this will mean for my posting schedule, since I will be having classes and/or working on projects two to three evenings per week, including Thursday.
Well, we'll see.
I'm also in need of a comics break soonish - I'm getting out of breath here - but I don't want to break off in the middle of an episode :/. I'll need to think this over.
Anyway, at the last minute: a new page.

Arthur and his men are in Venta, where the Sword of Kings has remained stuck in a stone for ages. And you know what? Arthur actually manages to pull it out! He then proceeds to free the Britons the Saxon patrol in Venta kept as slaves, and discovers that the man in the dungeon is the formidable Morholt.

Concrit is still and always welcome :).

Date: Thursday, 19 June 2014 08:35 pm (UTC)Argh, Alcina, I need to get in touch with you about Elrond, unless you have quite given up on that idea. I feel that if this is going to happen at all, we need to fix something soon - like, you tell me what to draw (something really definite) and I draw it, and then you tell me what is and isn't okay about it. The 'let's do some studies' thing isn't working for me; I need a definite image to chew on. Since I'm not really involved in this fandom, I have too few ideas to contribute without solid prompting, I think.

Date: Friday, 20 June 2014 02:34 pm (UTC)I think you are a fantastic artist already, and don't get why you would need art-classes :-). But I sure understand the drive to get better. And a talent like yours are worth working with.
I don't know enough about art to fully appreciate and judge your drawings from a 'technical' view, but what really gets me is your story-telling talent. You are giving us such a fascinating tale - I can hardly wait to hear more about Morholt - his background, why he left Ireland, how he will fit in among Arthurs men, how Lucan will act etc. - and then there is Cei, - does he resent Arthur in hero-mode a little bit, or is he just worried for his brother? And young Gawain, starting to discover his talents, and Morgaine....
Your persons have such depth and you have put such work in to their background. And all this you communicate not with words (at least only a few words), but with pictures.
Sorry for the long rambling. I find it hard to express my self in English, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say.
Do what is right for you - we will be here when you return from your break. (But you will be missed :-))
