Fannish sketch dump

Today I have no limits :P.
Below are non-paper bag Snapey sketches. And some of Brynhild, because I love her, though it's probably not quite proper to say that of your own OFC. Hum.

I recall that when I posted my Bat Boy, someone somewhere asked me whether I thought little Severus's getup was purposefully odd. After all, JKR describes his clothes as 'so mismatched that it looked deliberate'. At that time I replied that I thought the smock and the adult man's coat were clothes little Severus wore because his family was so poor that they couldn't give him proper clothes. In the meantime I have changed my mind. I think little Severus dressed up as a wizard and, being a child, probably imagined he really looked like one. The smock and the large coat were simply the closest thing he could find to a robe and cloak.

An unfinished adult Snape, with shoddy Photoshopping on the sleeve in an attempt to hide the fact that he was drawn on the print of a press release. There were letters all over his arm. Aheh.

Two Brynhilds, also on press release prints. She's a joy to draw, and she can wear higher heels than Snape :-). That said, I am amazed at the number of really good artists who are really lousy at drawing high-heeled shoes. If I can do it, there can't be much to it. But maybe they simply don't care enough about shoes to try and get them right...?

You don't want to cross a part-hag, I'm telling you.

A somewhat less harrowing reprisal of a Paper Bag scene. I haven't made up my mind whether or not Snape wanted to die in the Shack. I mean, seeing as how he's pretty depressed and never getting his precious Lily back, would he wish to be rescued at all? Especially since he's asked Harry to look ... at ... him. Urgh.

Date: Saturday, 15 August 2009 03:23 pm (UTC)I haven't been drawing much apart from the Gawain comic lately, and my storyboard is more functional than pretty. I really long to do a nice, elaborate drawing again.
