Long Overdue Update (and Preview!)

...Hello hello!
I still exist. Honestly. And I'm still working on the comic. Yayyyy! Only, it's the old comic that I'm redrawing. Updates on Brothers & Sisters are simmering, but on the backburner for the time being. I'm also working on some long overdue gift art, of which I have currently got 1.5 done and 1.5 still to go :p. Also, my male bestie has his birthday in 12 days and just this once I'd like to get him his present on time. So that's just due gift art, not overdue :p.
Anyway! Like I said, I'm redrawing the 'old and very sketchy and therefore unusable for the final version' pages of The Darkest Hour, and I'm doing that for school this year, so this is the stuff I'll be evaluated on. You may remember that at one point my teacher suggested that I do the pages in pencil only, but I was a bit unhappy with that because - well, I just missed ink :/. So, er, as per usual I did not follow the advice I was given and I started inking again. Basically what I did is to redraw the old pages the way I have been drawing the new ones recently: in an A5 notebook, with a rough pencil sketch which I then ink with brush pens. And I am much, much happier with the results than I used to be with the all-pencil approach. Yay! I still don't manage to work quickly, though.
Here's a preview of the pages that will be going up on the gawaincomic.com site. I hope you like them.

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back to Brothers & Sisters, so I can't put a date on it at this moment. I'm pondering it though, so when the pieces fit together, I'll start again. I'll keep you posted :).
Once more, thank you for your patience with my chaotic and incredibly slow self. *hugs*

Date: Sunday, 24 April 2016 09:11 pm (UTC)My teacher is appalled that I intend to redraw ALL of TDA, but the difference is so great that ... you know, I don't really have a choice. I think I can keep quite a bit of the more recent pages, but not the old ones. I mean, they are about 8 years old now and drawn in a moving train.

Date: Sunday, 15 May 2016 10:07 am (UTC)Your new version is so great - beautiful drawings. But it is strange: when I looked at the first drawing, I didn't understand what you had changed - I remembered Klingsor looking down on the dwelling a winter-night exactly like that. But then I went back and saw your original drawing, and could se how different it really was. Your new version is wonderful, and I'm looking forward to se more.
