I have good news and bad news today. Let's start with the bad: I won't be able to post next Saturday, nor the one after that. I'll be in the Himalayas - or rather, I'll be travelling to and from them. There will be no Internet connection worth mentioning, and as there are no trains there, I won't be able to continue my drawing routine either. I am thinking about taking the comic along for work on the plane or in airports, but I haven't decided yet - mostly because I will probably use every opportunity to sleep rather than do anything else. Still pondering the matter... :P
The good news is that you can read four pages instead of the usual three this time :-). I learnt from the reactions to one of the first episodes and realised it would be awkward to break off after page 30 - and even more awkward to start the next instalment with page 31. So here you go.
These pages contain glimpses of some of the things I was (am) most apprehensive about: horsemen, a castle, and an army :/. They are pretty aargh and can clearly do with some extra work. I'm just lucky that this is a storyboard ;-).
Among the things that I realise I will need to do are:
- establishing the layout of buildings (such as Castle Terrabil)
- creating consistent and varied costume designs
I'm doing these things on the fly now, which is all very well to give you an idea of what I mean, but it won't do for the final version. There has to be some consistency, and it would also be nice if I could actually do something with costumes and such, like showing whether or not someone is well-dressed.
I'm running late again, so this is it for today. As always, any thoughts, comments and concrit are very welcome :D!
What went before:
King Uther gathers an army and marches on Cornwall, his sole purpose to steal Ygraine from her husband. Gorlois is ready to affront him. He sends his wife and daughters to castle Tintagil, the safest place he can think of. And he waits.
