The Sleeper's Den

I know the feeling all too well! Martin is notorious for killing off favourite characters, and it did put me off for certain. I tend to grow to care about fictional characters a great deal, and somehow I always pick the ones who draw the shortest straw :/. Here again, I'm all for House Stark, whose members are generally honest, plain-spoken, reserved and just - so obviously in the corrupt universe of Song of Ice and Fire life - or rather the other characters - treats them really badly :(. It's very difficult for me to keep from spoiling myself by looking at the character lists at the end of each coming book, because dead characters are placed between brackets. In a way, I want to prepare myself for what's to come. But on the other hand, these books are real pageturners and I want to be surprised XD.
