Ever wondered what a Dark Revel looks like? If you're curious, look below...
Okay, I couldn't post a Gawain update this weekend, but hopefully I can make up for it a little bit by showing you the picture
cabepfir and I drew together while I was a guest at her home in Naples. I had a wonderful time and we were unashamedly geeky, which I guess shows in our collaboration as well :P.
cabepfir is writing a long SS/HG fic, A Summer in York, and her story led us towards long discussions about Snape, Voldemort, Dumbledore and Death Eater business. Finally, we summed up our conclusions about Voldemort and Snape's early career as a Death Eater in a picture. We promise you that it's utterly canon-compliant.

Drawing something together with Cecilia was a special experience. She doesn't have to redraw every figure five times like I do - she just sets them down and they fit. They are the right size, they are well-proportioned, nothing looks wonky. Cecilia drew Bella and Voldemort (and the table, of course, because you don't want to know what I would have done with that), then handed the paper over to me forLegolas Lucius and Snape. I broke out in a cold sweat because it would take me ages to try and fit those two in plausibly. (Don't ask. I'm just incompetent that way.) Now, of course, I had the luxury of Cecilia's presence, so she basically sketched the positions in and told me what was supposed to go where. Throughout my work on the picture, I kept saying things like, "Ceciliaaaaaaaa, this doesn't look riiiiiiiiight!", and then she would move in with her pencil and solve my problems in the blink of an eye. She also kindly drew all the chairs - there, again, I was bound to mess up the perspective completely. As it is, I'm happy that the Royal Doulton with hand-painted periwinkles doesn't float or sink through the table :p. The saucers are weird-looking, though. You know me.
cabepfir's Voldemort is the cutest scaly, noseless Dark Lord I have ever seen and I adore the delicate way in which he sips his tea. As for Bella, she has me in stitches with her utterly canonical Adoring Gaze (TM).
