Colour pencil drawings tend to scan rather badly - that is one of the reasons why I discarded pencils as a way of colouring the comic :/. But I love using them! I'm happy that you find the real thing looks better than the scan :).

Just one word of warning if you intend to display the drawing: it is best to avoid placing it in direct sunlight. I use professional quality pencils, but even then not all colours are equally lightfast.
